Clojars
Clojars is the community repository for open source Clojure libraries. It gives maintainers a free place to publish their work and gives Clojure developers and build tools a dependable place to retrieve it.
Clojars is a member project of the Clojurists Together Foundation. Keeping this shared infrastructure reliable, secure, and available is part of our mission to support the open source software and infrastructure that the Clojure community depends on.
Supporting Clojars maintenance
Clojurists Together funds Toby Crawley (lead maintainer) and Daniel Compton (maintainer) to maintain Clojars. In 2026, this is a combined long-term grant of $1,500 USD per month.
Their work includes responding to operational issues and community support requests, maintaining the service and its infrastructure, applying security updates, improving publishing and administration tools, and keeping hosting reliable and cost-effective. You can follow this work in the Clojars changelog and in our project updates.
Critical infrastructure for the Clojure community
Clojars has provided free JAR hosting to the Clojure community since November 2009. As of October 2026:
- Clojars hosts more than 33,000 projects with 230,000 versions released.
- Those versions had been downloaded more than 3.3 billion times.
